Description
The new standard clarifying the scope and accounting guidance for contributions received and contributions made, FASB’s ASU 2018-08, is effective in 2019 for contributions received and in 2020 for contributions made. The new standard helps entities evaluate two important issues: 1) whether transactions should be accounted for as exchange (reciprocal) transactions or as contributions (nonreciprocal) transactions; and 2) determining whether a contribution is conditional. These important amendments apply to all entities, including business entities, that receive or make contributions of cash or other assets.
To keep you ahead of the amended rules in ASU 2018-08, Clarifying the Scope and Accounting Guidance for Contributions Received and Contributions Made, we are conducting an in-depth seminar to provide implementation guidance to help you apply these clarifying rules to your contribution transactions. This session will include examples and best practice recommendations.
If you are interested in this topic but unable to attend in person on May 16, a webinar will be hosted in the coming months. More information to come.
